If you are changing door access systems and planning to use Club OS + Avigilon Alta (formerly Openpath), the steps you need to take will depend on your current setup.
This guide outlines what to expect and what actions are required to ensure a smooth transition.
Overview
Club OS integrates directly with Avigilon Alta Access for door access management.
When switching systems, customers generally fall into one of these categories:
- New to Avigilon Alta and new to Club OS
- Already using Avigilon Alta (Openpath) and moving to Club OS
- Currently under a previous reseller (e.g., ABC) and need to change dealers
Please follow the section below that applies to your situation.
1️⃣ New to Avigilon Alta & New to Club OS
If you are not currently using Avigilon Alta (Openpath) and are setting up both Avigilon Alta and Club OS for the first time:
Step 1: Contact Avigilon Alta
- Visit Avigilon.com
- Navigate to the Cloud Access product section
- Select one of the available calls to action (e.g., Request a Demo, Contact Sales)
- Complete the contact form
- Avigilon’s inbound sales team will contact you quickly to:
- Understand your door hardware needs
- Connect you with an authorized local reseller (dealer)
- Begin the setup process for your Alta Access organization
Avigilon Alta Access must be purchased and provisioned through an authorized reseller.
Step 2: Set Up Your Alta Access Organization
Your authorized dealer will:
- Configure your Alta Access organization
- Set up your hardware
- Establish billing for your Alta platform
Once your Alta Access organization is active, your Club OS team can connect the integration.
Step 3: Connect Club OS + Avigilon Alta
After your Alta Access organization is fully set up:
- Your Club OS representative will establish the integration
- You will be able to sync members and manage door access directly through Club OS
2️⃣ Already Using Avigilon Alta (Openpath) & New to Club OS
If you are already using Avigilon Alta (formerly Openpath) and are adding Club OS:
Step 1: Confirm Your Dealer Relationship
Avigilon Alta accounts must be managed by an authorized reseller (dealer).
If you are already working with a dealer:
- Confirm they manage your Alta Access organization
- Ensure your billing and account are in good standing
If you are unsure who your dealer is, Avigilon’s sales or channel team can help identify your current reseller.
Step 2: Dealer Change (If Applicable)
If you were previously under a reseller arrangement (such as ABC) and need to move:
- You will need to submit a Dealer Change Request through Avigilon Alta.
- This transfers your Alta Access organization to a new authorized reseller.
Important notes:
- The prior ABC parent/child billing structure is no longer supported.
- Your club must operate under a local authorized reseller who manages your platform billing.
- This process is not immediate and may take time to complete.
After the dealer change request is submitted:
- Avigilon’s Channel Operations and Sales teams will assist in identifying an appropriate new reseller.
- Once transferred, your new dealer will manage your Alta Access billing and support.
Step 3: Connect Club OS Integration
Once your Alta Access organization is:
- Active
- Under the correct reseller
- Fully provisioned
Your Club OS representative can establish the integration to your Alta Access organization.
At that point, member syncing and access control automation can begin.
Important Considerations
- Avigilon Alta Access must always be managed by an authorized reseller.
- Dealer changes may require coordination between Avigilon Channel Ops, Sales, and your new reseller.
- Integration setup cannot begin until your Alta organization is fully provisioned under the correct dealer.
