This security feature helps prevent unauthorized access to user accounts. For clubs with login verification enabled, when Club OS detects a login from a new location, you are required to click a verification link sent to the email address on file for your Club OS account before you can access Club OS.
Here's how the verification flow works:
- When you log in from a new location, you'll see messaging to check your email address for a verification email. Part of the email address will be shown (and the rest masked) to help you identify which account to check.
- If you do not have an email address on your account, you'll see messaging to contact a club admin or Club OS support to add an email address. Once it is added, you'll need to log in again, triggering the verification email to be sent to your email address.
- If you cannot access the email address associated with your account, you will also need to contact a club admin or Club OS support to update the email address on your account, and then log in again to trigger a new verification email to the updated address.
- When you receive your verification email, you must click on the unique link in the email and log in again with your user name and password. The link is valid for 15 minutes. Reminder: Club OS will never contact you to ask you for this URL.
- Once you have clicked the URL and logged in, future logins from this location will be allowed with no verification needed. Note that you must click on the URL from the device that triggered the verification. For example, if you received a verification email from an attempted login on your computer, you must also click the verification link from your computer to have your computer's location verified. If you click on the link from your phone, you will not be able to log in from your computer (until you access the link and log in from your computer itself).
